Enjoyed the tours and the historic trade shops. The docents were excellent, especially Lindsay at the Governors Palace. Definitely stop by the bakery… we had ginger cakes fresh from the brick oven… absolutely delicious!

Colonial Williamsburg is an exceptional experience. We have gone there several times before for at least 5 days each time and the experience has always been different. Each year they change the site, and the people you encounter always have new refreshing insights to the 18th century or the specialty they are displaying. This year we went in November and the change from our normal Spring/Summer adventures was enlightening. I was fascinated by the firing of the bricks, a one-time a year event that I have wanted to see. New exhibits in the art museum, including the new music area were very interesting, and I look forward to the new exhibits promised to come.

Having lived all over this great country and traveled abroad courtesy Uncle Sam, we keep coming back to Colonial Williamsburg as our favorite destination. It seems like we always learn something new. It is like your own personal time machine and each visit transports one back to the long ago era. Next to actually being back then, Colonial Williamsburg shows one how life was back then. Highly recommended to anyone who loves history and the early stages of this country.
